Turangi is fast becoming a destination for great eateries and a place to discover hidden gems. Here's a selection of must eats whilst visiting this riverside town.

Creel Café – excellent coffee and the best pastry this side of Paris.

Turangi Bakery & Café – discover award-winning pies with uniquely New Zealand flavours like venison, kumara and gravy, or lamb, kumara and mint.

Rust Gourmet Burger Bar – craft beer, New Zealand wine, tapas, and gourmet burgers to die for. The latest addition to the Turangi foody scene and already becoming a firm favourite.

Lakeland House – absolute lakefront and the perfect location for a long lunch over generous platters and New Zealand wine.

Tongariro Lodge – lodge dining at its best, with open fire in the winter months. Beautiful fresh produce, meat and game, prepared simply to let the flavours shine through, all in a beautiful garden setting. Open for casual dining and lodge guests.

Delta Coffee Cart - excellent coffee, plenty of parking and situated at the start/end of the Tongariro River Trail means this is the perfect point for pre-ride coffee or post-ride ice-cream!
