One of the world’s rarest mānuka honeys lands in Taupō

Taupō is now home to one of the rarest luxury wellness products in the world, with Huka Honey Hive now becoming one of only a handful of retailers globally to stock the exclusive Manuka South Limited Reserve Legacy UMF35+ honey.

Retailing at $2,499 per jar, the ultra-premium honey sits at the very pinnacle of a booming global wellness industry. Only 0.03 per cent of all tested UMF mānuka honey ever reaches this level of potency, making it among the rarest and most sought-after natural wellness products on earth.

Just two jars have arrived in Taupō, with the honey also stocked by London's iconic Harrods, placing Taupō alongside some of the world's most prestigious retail destinations.

Produced by Manuka South, the Limited Reserve Legacy UMF35+ honey has been carefully monitored and matured over 1,400 days and undergone more than 100 individual tests to ensure its exceptional quality and potency.

Each jar is presented in a handcrafted American black walnut case featuring crystal viewing windows, monogrammed Italian leather detailing, antique gold accents and a signed legacy booklet — as much a collector’s piece as a wellness product.

Love Taupō General Manager Patrick Dault says the product is a natural fit for a region that has wellness woven into its DNA.

"Taupō has always been a place people come to restore and recharge - whether that's soaking in geothermal hot pools, exploring pristine landscapes, or now, accessing some of the world's most exclusive natural wellness products. Having something this rare available here speaks to the quality and diversity of what visitors can experience in our region."

Huka Honey Hive owner Jo Saville said the product had already generated strong interest.

"This is something truly special, unlike anything we've had in store before. Wellness-focused visitors are increasingly seeking out products with genuine provenance and proven potency, and this honey delivers on both counts."

Known for stocking Aotearoa’s largest selection of artisan honey products, Huka Honey Hive continues to offer visitors a unique way to connect with one of New Zealand’s most iconic natural products, and now, one of its rarest.
