My role, My role is to ensure that the team have a clear view of what the organisation wants to accomplish and a plan on how to get there. I look after the amazing team at Destination Great Lake Taupo, so they can look after our tourism community and they, in-turn, look after our visitors.
What do you love about Taupō? I love the creativity and passion of our community. I’m passionate about our culture – where every township harbours things to discover, from local artists, storytellers, dining experiences and accommodation – all with a stunning mountain and lake backdrop.

My role, I'm the digital guy around here—I make our website easier to use, personalise content, and do all the behind-the-scenes magic to help both our visitors and local businesses have a great time. I get a kick out of using digital tools to create smoother online experiences.
What do you love about Taupō? Honestly, it's the best. The stunning views, the outdoor adventures, and that feeling of just being able to breathe... it doesn't get better than this. It's where families come together, and where you can just slow down and soak it all in.

My role, I help share the stories of the people, places and experiences that define Taupō and make our region so special. My goal is to bring locals and visitors together through stories that inspire, celebrate our region, and create lasting impact.

My role, I lead our trade and commercial product development strategy. With over 19 years of experience in global tourism, I am committed to enhancing Taupō’s appeal as a world-class visitor destination through innovative destination development and strengthening operator collaborations.
What do you love about Taupō? I am captivated by Taupō’s vibrant community and the stunning natural landscapes that surround us. I cherish exploring our rich local culture, engaging with our passionate operators, and promoting the breathtaking views of our mountains and lake.
Takahide Nakazawa, Project Lead
My role, I lead special projects, destination development, and industry engagement, working with MBIE, Tourism New Zealand, industry partners and our tourism community. With over 15 years’ experience in tourism and events, including roles with IBM, Tourism New Zealand and New Zealand Winegrowers, and as a PMP-certified project manager, I enjoy bringing people together and turning ideas into meaningful projects for Taupō.
What do you love about Taupō? I love the huge potential Taupō has to become a truly world-class destination. There are so many incredible experiences, stories and people here, and I believe we’re only beginning to realise what we have. I enjoy helping our community see Taupō’s potential and sharing its unique strengths with the world.

My role, I help bring the Love Taupō story to life through campaigns and storytelling that inspire people to discover and rediscover our region. By showcasing the experiences, landscapes, and people that make Taupō unique, I create connections between visitors and the local operators who make our destination unforgettable.
What do you love about Taupō? I love how Taupō keeps me grounded. There’s something special about finishing the workday and stopping by the lake for a swim, surrounded by an incredible natural landscape. At the same time, adventure is always within reach, whether it’s exploring the mountains, discovering a new walking track, or simply getting outdoors. Most of all, I love the genuine manaakitanga of our community and the way local operators create meaningful connections that turn a visit to Taupō into a lasting memory.
