While Taupō has no shortage of incredible stories to tell, securing national editorial coverage of this scale does not happen by chance. The feature reflects significant behind-the-scenes work by Love Taupō, from strategic PR planning and targeted media engagement through to operator coordination and support for a hosted media visit that helped bring the region’s story to life.
Whilst the feature spotlights 18 local operators from right across the region, from accommodation providers and restaurants through to activity operators, artists and local makers, the article celebrates Taupō as a region.
Love Taupō General Manager Patrick Dault says the feature is a proud moment for the region.
“To see Taupō feature so prominently is really exciting. The story showcases the depth and diversity of experiences available across our region and shines a spotlight on the local businesses, makers and operators who help make Taupō such a special place to visit.”
Dault says coverage of this scale helps raise awareness of Taupō as a year-round destination while delivering benefits for the wider community.
"More visitors mean more people staying in local accommodation, dining in our restaurants, shopping in our stores and booking experiences. That visitor spend supports local jobs, businesses and investment across the region."
The feature was curated following a media visit supported by Love Taupō close to a year ago, demonstrating the long-term value of hosting journalists and working together to share the stories that make the region unique.
"We're incredibly grateful to the journalist and operators who helped bring this story to life. It's a fantastic example of what can be achieved when our industry works together to showcase the best of Taupō," says Dault.
