The event will also introduce Te Wiki o Ako initiative, designed to give tourism and hospitality staff the opportunity to experience local tourism products first-hand.
Tourism and hospitality businesses are invited to participate by providing special industry-only offers or experiences for local visitor-facing staff during Te Wiki o Ako (Friday 21 August – Friday 28 August).
This initiative aims to help staff become stronger ambassadors for the region by experiencing Taupō’s products first-hand and confidently recommending activities and experiences to visitors.
