The popular Friday night Live music shows at the Garden Bar is an added attraction. And because of its style and welcoming atmosphere Ploughmans has garnered attention from travellers world wide as their local pub away from home. The Restaurant and Garden Bar, has been built on an old English, Tudor style theme. Located in Rainbow Point, Two Mile Bay area, Ploughman's brings the feeling of being a destination, while being on the fringe of the township.
The restaurant has seating inside for 120 guests, with the outside garden area being able to accommodate an additional 80 people. The garden which has been lovingly planted and boxed to closely resemble an old English garden is set just off the main decking area, where over the summer months is extremely popular for meetings with friends and family for a casual brunch, lunch or dinner.
There is plenty of parking for every one and the restaurant is easy to spot from SH1 only 3 minutes from town heading south. The food style at Ploughman's is classic with a contemporary feel in the British comfort food style, mixing traditional with more pacific flavoured cuisine. Also serving standard fare of the western world such as Burgers and Salads.
The bar area is fitted with a large open fire place for those colder nights (not that we get many of those in Taupo). You can chat with the locals watch the games and enjoy our large selection of single malts, wines and craft beer. Ploughman's prides itself on it friendly service, delicious food and great ambiance as well as providing something for everyone.
