For over six decades, the Hamill name has been synonymous with hunting, fishing and the great outdoors. Launched in 1955 in Rotorua by the legendary Bill Hamill, Hamills Fishing and Hunting Specialists Stores have continued to hold strong to Bill’s expertise in fishing and firearms.
Hamills is proud to be locally owned and operated. With 5 locations in the North Island, there is bound to be a Hamills store near you, and if not – buying online couldn’t be easier!
In late 2017, Saran and Amy took the keys to Hamills Taupo. With Saran being a keen hunter, along with Amy’s background in marketing, it was an opportunity not to be missed.
Sadly, on 30 November 2018, a tragic arson attack on an adjacent store resulted in Hamills being gutted by fire and all stock was lost – only two weeks shy of our one-year anniversary.
After a year of rebuilding, we were thrilled to reopen at the end of 2019 and the shop is now looking better than ever. We have everything you need for your outdoor adventures, from lower price points to top quality, handmade New Zealand products and something for everyone in the family (even newborns!).
