Epic Cycle Adventures operates shuttles and bike hire from their base in Ongarue at the southern end of the Timber Trail. We also have a unique glamping operation- Camp Epic- exactly halfway along the Trail.
Camp Epic - Glamping on the Timber Trail
Camp Epic has 19 luxury tents, a large communal kitchen/dining area and a toilet and shower block with what we think are the best showers in New Zealand. Surrounded by stunning native bush you will feel at one with nature - fall asleep to the sound of morepork/ruru just metres away from your tent and wake up to a cacophony of birdsong from the dozens of native bird species that thrive around our camp.
A two day ride - you meet us in Ongarue on day one and we shuttle you to Pureora. You ride down to Camp Epic (40km) overnight in our beautiful canvas tents, then ride out to Ongarue on day two (42km).
The Timber Trail is considered one of the best two day rides in New Zealand.
