Graffiato: Taupō Street Art Festival is the longest running street art festival of its kind in New Zealand, held annually in Taupo over Labour weekend since 2011.
It is also the most well-established festival of any kind in Taupo's history. A combination of well-known artists, along with local emerging talent, paint 8-10 walls over the 3-day Labour weekend. The murals liven up and bring beauty to the back alleyways and streets of the town centre, while engaging the local community with an ever-growing art gallery in the CBD.
The 2026 version of the event will feature another incredible set of talented artists, this time all working within one laneway! This will allow the event to truly feel like a street festival, with all the buzz focused in one place. The artists, the helpful volunteers and the viewing public should enjoy the convenience of being in one place, and the be able to feed off the excitement around them.
Graffiato walking maps will be made available at the visitor and information centre.
