Whether you’re a junior, fairly new to golf (or returning to golf!), or perhaps you prefer to golf in a more relaxed, less ‘advanced’ setting, Taupō has you covered. We’ve got options to welcome you onto the fairways in a safe, friendly and non-intimidating environment. Find out more about Taupo golf clubs below.
All of the ‘Big Three’ premier courses in Taupō itself have the convenient benefit of a neighbouring course which is perfectly suited for all golfers new to the game.
Bordering the bigger and famed Kinloch Club Golf Course, this pretty little lakeside 9-hole routing can also be enjoyed from different tee boxes for an 18-hole loop. Welcoming and charming, this is a perfect option for beginners to get comfortable on the golf course.
Tauhara Golf Course is the second course as part of the Taupō Golf Club. With less traffic and more accommodating golf for people new to the game, Tauhara is an enjoyable 18-hole course to work on your game in a pleasant and well-conditioned setting. Only a few minutes from Taupō town, it’s worth checking out!
Situated between the Mangakino township and Lake Maraetai, this is a flat and gently undulating 10-hole course with picturesque views of Lake Maraetai and the surrounding forest. A fun and welcoming country course visit.
A popular course to stop and play on a road trip through the Central Plateau. Tūrangi Golf Course offers a beautiful and lush parklands-style golf course with beautiful views and interesting golf holes.
Country-style golf course with holes neatly routed through forestry and farm blocks. Tranquil and welcoming, with that well-renowned firm underfoot Taupō conditions.
You’ll be hard-pressed to find a golfer who doesn’t enjoy hitting balls at the driving range. It’s the perfect place to work on your swing, have a laugh, and shake off any rust before a golf outing, or simply a fun golf outing on its own. Fun for the whole family.
A recent addition to the Taupō golf offering, the Swingers Putt Putt 18-hole mini putt course takes you on a journey around the central plateau showcasing the geography and many adventure-based tourism locations that the region has to offer. Lit by LED lights at night, enjoy a meal at Mavericks Gastro Pub right next door and watch the kids from the deck.
Coaching is a great option for getting your game and golf pursuit off on the right foot. Whilst in holiday mode, there's no better time to enquire at Wairakei Golf + Sanctuary, The Kinloch Club, or Taupō Golf Club, or the Driving Range for lessons with the golf pro. It's worth noting that you do not need to book a tee time to have a lesson.
