Hot Water Beach

As the name suggests, Hot Water Beach is an incredible slice of lake frontage where you can enjoy steaming hot water straight from a natural geothermal spring! With views over the water and to the mountains - you won’t find a more scenic foot spa anywhere else in the world.

Sure, it’s a bit far south to be THAT Hot Water Beach, but unlike its famous Coromandel cousin with the same name, there are no crowds taking up all the prime spots here. It’s more laid-back and chill, just how we love it here in Taupō. Located on the Great Lake Pathway, a short stroll from the Steaming Bean coffee cart, car parks are a-plenty or you could choose to stop by on a leisurely bike ride. And depending on what temperature you’re looking for, you shouldn’t have to go far to discover the ideal place to dip your toes (or bathe the bod!).

Sublime year-round, Taupō's Hot Water Beach is definitely worth checking out when you’re in town.

Be aware that the water can be very hot in some places, so please exercise caution if you have young children with you.
