Taupō is a great base for the Crossing, with a great range of accommodation, restaurants and hot pools to enjoy before and after your hike. We pick up from most central Taupō accommodation providers, or from the Taupō Visitor Information Centre if you're further out. In the morning, we take you directly to the Mangatepopo track start and afternoon pickup is from the Ketetahi end, around 3:30–4pm (confirmed the day before). That gives you a generous 8 hours on the track. When you book, we will confirm the meeting point, and on the day, we provide a map and an information sheet so you feel prepared and confident.
