Situated alongside the mighty Waikato River, the Spa Park Disc Golf Course has quickly become one of the premier disc golf destinations in New Zealand.
The park contains a Blue 9-hole Course that is designed for a fun and challenging introduction to the game, as well as a championship level Red 18-hole Course that provides a stunning addition to the catalogue of top-tier NZ courses.
The course has been the decades long vision of legendary New Zealand disc golfers Bob Gentil, David Keene, Simon Feasey and Blair Joines; and with the help of Taupo local, Ken Harris, and course builder, Haydn Shore, that vision came to life.
Once you have a disc, the game of disc golf is free to play, there’s no need to book ahead and it’s good wholesome fun for the whole family.
The object of the game is similar to golf, but instead of a little white ball, clubs and a hole, for disc golf you want to land your flying disc in a metal basket in the fewest number of throws.
