Lava Glass Studio, Gallery, Sculpture Garden and Cafe

Lava Glass offers a unique and fascinating window into the world of glassblowing and glass art. The complex comprises a glass art gallery, glassblowing studio, glass sculpture garden and café.

Lava Glass Sculpture Garden

The Lava Glass Sculpture Garden is set in an acre of manicured grounds with more than 600 glass sculptures. It makes you feel like Alice in Wonderland, with fields of glass flowers, ponds, glass korus, mushrooms and a 15 piece waterfall. The New Zealand Gardens Trust has endorsed this sculpture garden as a 'Garden of Significance'. Don't miss this must see attraction on your visit to Taupō.

Lava Glass Studio

In the Lava Glass Studio, the public can view the glassblowing process by master glassblower and owner of Lava Glass, Lynden Over. Lynden is famous for his Volcanic Series, a range of vases, bowls, and paperweights that are inspired by New Zealand's striking scenery. Currently, the Volcanic Series comprises 19 different landscape designs.

Lava Glass Gallery

All pieces in the Lava Glass Gallery are individually made on site. They, therefore, all vary slightly in shape size and design, making them original artworks. Each piece is signed and dated by the artist and makes for a perfect souvenir, gift or collector's item. Lynden Over's New Zealand inspired glass art is also available online and can be shipped worldwide.

Lava Glass Café

The Lava Glass Café is open for breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea. It offers delectable homemade meals, cakes, and cabinet food. Sit inside or outside on the sunny patio and take in the artistic environment.
