This exhibition is a joyous retrospective and posthumous celebration of Taupō artist/illustrator, Joy Mongillo, and is the first public display of her art.
Joy was a true artist; she approached each effort very seriously and created for the sheer pleasure of it, often incorporating the fantastic, the humorous, and sometimes even the magical. Joy was a keen observer of nature and the world around her, and used watercolour to provide glimpses of what she saw and so fascinated her. This exhibition affords the opportunity to experience, and take home, a celebration of these visions as seen through her interpretive and joyful eyes.
