Outdoor movie screenings on the Taupō lakefront:
Friday 10 and Saturday 11 April
Gear up for a huge Supercars weekend and head down to Tapuaeharuru Reserve (Roberts Street) on Taupō's lakefront for free family-friendly animated movies on a big outdoor screen!
Bring your family and friends with a picnic or grab some takeaways from one of the nearby eateries, and get settled in for a very special movie screening!
Friday 10 April at 5.30pm: ‘Cars 2.’ Lightning McQueen returns in this exciting and fun movie featuring Owen Wilson and Eddie Izzard.
Saturday 11 April at 5.30pm: ‘Herbie Fully Loaded’. Starring Lindsay Lohan and Michael Keaton, this comedy movie of course features the lovable Herbie, a car with a mind of its own!
Build-A-Car Kit Workshops:
Friday 10, Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 April
A fun, one-hour workshop where kids and parents work side-by-side to build a wooden toy kitset together. If you want to get into the mechanics of it all, why not book yourself a spot and take away your very own race car!
It’s recommended for children aged 7–12, with younger children likely needing more hands‑on help.
