Outdoor & nature

Everything in Taupō begins with its incredible natural landscapes. From the vast, sparkling waters of Lake Taupō and the always-breathtaking panorama of the peaks of Tongariro National Park, to its ancient forests, pristine rivers like the Waikato and Tongariro, and startling geothermal terrain, Taupō’s place as one of the most beautiful regions of the world is undisputed.

In true Kiwi style, we’ve found ways to take enjoyment of this scenery to the next level, by adding the excitement of adrenaline sports like bungy-jumping, jet-boating, ski-diving, waterskiing and white water rafting.

Of course, if you prefer to enjoy nature the old-fashioned way – long forest hikes, bird-spotting, star-gazing, fly-fishing in streams, or sailing across the lake in a yacht – that’s all here too.
