Formerly from Taupō Fiona Tunnicliffe is well known and respected for her passion for clay, her love of animals and sense of humour which are reflected in her creations. She is a master at representing the essence of an animal’s character with the flick of a tail or the arch of a neck and this along with the surface treatments she uses make her work distinctive and desirable.
Fiona has won numerous accolades over a 30-year career as a full-time potter. A regular exhibitor at Taupo Museum and popular with locals and visitors alike, Fiona is a member of the NZ Society of Potters and the Academy of Fine Arts and divides her time between making works and teaching.
Taupō Museum is open 7 days from 10am to 4:30pm (Closed Good Friday) and entry is free to Taupō District residents with proof of address. Children 0 – 18 Free, Seniors 60+ and Students $3, Adults $5
