Avian Aversion Training - Taupo

Kiwi and Whio aversion training is a tool which helps reduce the threat that dogs can pose to our native birds.

It is used mostly for “dogs with jobs,” such as farm or hunting dogs, where it is necessary for them to be in areas with Kiwi or Whio. However, some owners who enjoy recreating in the outdoors with their dog may also be interested in this training. If this is something you may be interested in for your dog and would like to know more about it, please see the Kiwis for Kiwi website.

Bring your dog along to train at any of our Kiwi & Whio Aversion events, and receive a free Family Pass to the Ōtorohanga Kiwi House (valued at $65.00), where you and the whole family will be able to see the precious birds that you and your dog will be working towards protecting!
