The gallery showcases the work of award-winning master glass artist Lynden Over, whose signature pieces are inspired by NZ's landscapes. Lynden's work is held in both private and public collections worldwide. All glass art in the gallery is for sale. The Lava Glass studio is the first carbon-zero certified glassblowing studio in the world. It has theatre-style seating for up to 30 delegates where visitors can watch the artists at work. In the nationally recognised Glass Sculpture Garden, Lava Glass can host an event or delegates can simply stroll at leisure. Lava Glass' licensed cafe can plan a menu around the group's requirements. We recommend an allocation of 2 hours for the Lava Glass experience. We can also partner with a local activity operator to include a jet boat ride on the famous Waikato River or a Boat Cruise up to the base of Huka Falls, or a late afternoon soak at the Wairakei Thermal Pools.

What sets Lava Glass apart from the rest for your next Business Event?

  • Glass art gallery and the first net carbon-zero certified glass blowing studio where one can watch the glass blowing and be guided through the process.
  • Sculpture garden with more than 600 glass sculptures set in an acre of manicured garden that gives visitors the opportunity of a leisurely stroll. It can also be used as an event location. Live music can be organised in the sound shell with tiered seating on an outdoor grass auditorium.
  • Our onsite cafe can provide breakfast, morning tea, afternoon tea, lunches, platters, and canapes.
  • We can work alongside the Huka Falls River Cruise or a Jet Boat company close by to create a half-day experience.
